Andy Spate first visited a show cave in 1953. By 1959 he was assisting in cave surveying and research in NSW caves. He was a recreational caver for many years but around 1974 he started to get heavily involved in cave and karst research. In 1981 he became the first professional karst specialist in the Southern Hemisphere when he was appointed to the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service to manage that State’s caves.

In 2001 he established Optimal Karst Management as a consultancy. His engagements have included providing advice in South Korea, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Sarawak, the USA and Europe as well as in Australia and New Zealand.

He has published many peer-reviewed papers on cave and karst issues. He has also prepared more than 250 conference presentations and reports dealing with cave and karst issues – many dealing with show cave management and interpretation.

Steve Bourne has lived close to the Naracoorte Caves World Heritage Site all his life. His family purchased land with caves on stimulating a keen interest in cave and karst landscapes and the fauna that inhabits them. He commenced guiding at Naracoorte Caves in 1990 and became Senior Guide in 1998 and Tourism Services Manager in 1999, taking over as Manager of the site in 2002. In these various roles, he developed interpretative programs, trained many guides, oversaw scientific research programs and implemented many conservation and development projects. Steve now works in local government, and works to ensure the local community benefit from having a World Heritage Site in the region.

He has published peer reviewed papers and a large number of papers for the Australasian Cave and Karst Management Association’s journal, of which has been the publishing editor for 6 years. He has presented at conferences and workshops in the United Kingdom, Sarawak, Europe, South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia.

Dr. Pindi Setiawan adalah seorang ahli gambar cadas yang telah mempunyai banyak pengalaman di gua-gua karst di Indonesia khususnya Karst Sangkulirang. Saat ini beliau bergabung di Desain Komunikasi Visual Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain ITB. Doktor lulusan program sandwich antara ITB, Centro Comuno di Studi Preistorici, Italia dan Art et Histoire, Universitas Toulouse de Mirail Perancis telah memberi kontribusi besar untuk kawasan karst Indonesia. Beberapa gua menjadi temuan fenomenal yang memberi gambaran baru terhadap sejarah bangsa Indonesia. Beberapa penghargaan diperoleh untuk pengabdiannya selama 12 tahun penelitian Rock Art di Kutai Timur pada tahun 2008. Kerjasama penelitian baik nasional maupun internasional telah banyak dilakukan untuk mengungkap gambar cadas di Indonesia.
