Potensi Arkeologis Gua-Gua Di Kecamatan Paliyan Kabupaten Gunungkidul

Gunungkidul is one of the karst area in Java that has many archaeological remains. Thelandscape specifically developed in carbonate rock where cave, doline, uvala and karren are commonly found. Archaeological research at Gunungkidul has been carried out since the Dutch period, but the survey did not cover the whole area of Gunungkidul area, Paliyan District hasn’t been survey. This article presents the result of my survey in Paliyan District : the information of new caves and rockshelters sites and somedescriptions of its archaeological potentials.
